Apple releases iPhone 16 with many colors, Capture Button.
The regular iPhone 16 has many upgrades this year. In addition to the announced information such as new colors, Capture Button, A18 chip, Apple Intelligence support, the two iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models also have some other new features that were not announced at the event on September 9.
Charge faster
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus both have faster charging capabilities than the previous generation. Users can charge the new smartphone via MagSafe at 25W and wired charging via USB-C at 45W.
These numbers are significantly higher than last year's iPhone 15, which had 15W and 30W respectively. According to9to5mac, although still lower than many Android models, users can consider upgrading to the new iPhone if fast charging is an important factor.
Lower minimum brightness
The new iPhone models support a minimum brightness of 1 nit, including the regular and Pro models. According toMacRumors, Apple did not mention the minimum brightness of the iPhone 15, but the index on the iPhone 16 is "much lower", helping users to reduce the brightness of the screen as much as possible at night.
Macro photography
Although this feature was introduced from the iPhone 13 Pro in 2021, the ability to shoot macro was not equipped on the basic iPhone models, until the iPhone 16 generation. The device uses a newer ultra-wide camera, supporting close-up photos.
Faster Wifi
The new iPhone 16 models are compatible with the Wi-Fi 7 standard, which offers faster connection speeds. The technology now supports speeds of up to 46Gbps, which is more than five times faster than Wi-Fi 6E's 9Gbps. Wi-Fi 7 also operates on the 320MHz channel and supports the 6GHz band, reducing interference and signal congestion.
Space photography and video
The iPhone 16 can now shoot Spatial Video for the Vision Pro glasses, a feature that was available on the iPhone 15 Pro series last year. Support for Spatial Photo is also new.
