iPhone 16 Series Launched With Biggest Screen and Battery Life Ever

At the "It's Glowtime" event that took place in the early morning of September 10, Vietnam time, Apple officially launched the new iPhone 16 generation with 4 phone models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The iPhone 16 Series will be the first generation equipped with Apple Intelligence AI features, in the context that Samsung and Google phones have long applied AI artificial intelligence.

The product will compete directly with rivals such as Samsung Galaxy S24 or Google Pixel 9.

The successor to the iPhone 15 Series smartphone has been upgraded in terms of camera, screen and has new buttons with the same price.

iPhone 16 and 16 Plus with new design

As rumored, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus retain the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes. The device uses new tempered glass, which is 50% harder than the previous generation and twice as strong as other phones. Maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. The biggest attraction of the iPhone 16 is its new design and unique colors.

The iPhone 16's camera cluster will be redesigned with two lenses arranged vertically, exactly like the iPhone 12, instead of diagonally as before. This not only helps optimize space but also makes a difference compared to previous generations.

One of the highlights of the iPhone 16 is the appearance of the Action button and the Camera Control button. The Action button, which appeared on the iPhone 15 Pro, will now be present on both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.

Both phones are equipped with a powerful A18 chip, which is at least 30% faster than the A16 Bionic on the iPhone 15. This makes multitasking and gaming much smoother.

A rather special point is that this year Apple equipped the 2 latest chips on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus instead of using the previous generation chip like iPhone generations from 14 to 15.

In particular, the A18 chip integrates additional improvements in artificial intelligence (AI), helping to enhance the user experience from performance to the ability to handle complex tasks.

iPhone 16 runs iOS 18, equipped with AI and some new features such as allowing interface customization, control center, screen sharing to Mac.

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will come in five colors, with the starting price of the iPhone 16 starting at $799. The lowest-end iPhone 16 Plus will cost $899.

The new Camera Control button appearing on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be a force-sensitive type similar to the trackpad on the Macbook. Powering the iPhone 16 Pro duo is the A18 Pro chip, manufactured on a 3nm process, with 16 new NPU cores capable of 35 trillion calculations per second. Apple Intelligence features on the A18 Pro will be 15% faster than the chip generation on the iPhone 15 Pro.

Apple says the A18 Pro is the most powerful phone chip available today with a more powerful GPU and CPU than its predecessor while also saving more battery than the A17 Pro chip.

The A18 Pro will have a new component called Advanced Media to support some features such as ProMotion, Always-On Display, USB3 and ProRes format.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a camera cluster with a 48MP Fusion Camera main sensor, 24mm focal length, f/1.78. The Ultrawide sensor also has a resolution of 48MP, 13mm focal length, f/2.2. The telephoto camera has a resolution of 12MP, 120mm focal length (5x), f/2.8 and a pixel size of 1.12 micrometers.

Apple also officially "killed" the iPhone 15 Pro series and only sells the iPhone SE 2, iPhone 14, iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series.
