The detectives determined that Binh was "extremely gangster-like", rarely revealing his behavior and usually staying in a top-class apartment in the Diamond Island area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City. He himself did not gamble, drink, or engage in social evils, so he did not socialize with the outside world. Perhaps, Binh's joy was "guns and bullets".

When he had a group of juniors, Binh let them operate freely, polishing his image by organizing events and charity. Binh mobilized finances from accomplices or friends with good finances to use for the long-term plan.

"During the investigation, we found that Binh "Kiem" had no intention of reforming, but was very reckless, considering criminal behavior as normal. Furthermore, he did not have a stable job, so his criminal nature to make money arose even more," Colonel Son commented.

These images would be sent to their accomplices in the US to spread on pornographic websites to make money.

Through social relationships, Binh "Kiem" contacted Nguyen Tuan An, a gangster with many criminal records, to buy AK guns and bullets to send to Vietnam.

Discovering this "reckless, brutal" plan, C02 proposed a policy of early and far-reaching prevention with the spirit of resolutely cutting off the supply of weapons from abroad to Vietnam. "The first task at that time was to prevent weapons from falling into the hands of criminals and especially not to let them commit crimes. Resolutely destroy the gang led by Binh," said Colonel Son.

In late September and early October, police deployed troops to arrest Binh "Kiem"'s gang in Ho Chi Minh City and many other locations. An was arrested in Laos with a shipment of military weapons.

Police seized 3 AK guns, 8 military pistols of various types, over 1,400 bullets, 5 ammunition boxes, 5 bulletproof vests, drugs and many objects and documents related to the crime.

"The successful destruction of this gang has promptly prevented their extremely dangerous crimes. Thereby ensuring absolute safety for the people and even the crime-solving force," said Colonel Le Khac Son.

The investigation agency has prosecuted and temporarily detained Binh "Kiem" and 15 others for 7 crimes: Illegal manufacture, purchase, transport, and possession of military weapons; Fraudulent appropriation of property; Organizing gambling; Gambling; Failure to report crimes; Illegal possession of narcotics..Among the defendants were two people who were Binh's cellmates and had just been released after serving time for the crime. Killing.

Binh is from Mong Cai, Quang Ninh, and used to work at the Ho Chi Minh City military control battalion, so he has the nickname Binh "Kiem". He is stubborn, a thug, and uses military weapons to commit many extremely serious crimes across the country.

In 1991, Binh was discharged from the army and recruited many Northerners who specialized in protection, territorial disputes, loan sharking, debt collection, hired killing, and opening casinos and nightclubs in Ho Chi Minh City. In 1996, while being rehabilitated at a prison camp in Binh Phuoc, Binh escaped and continued to organize gambling until 1998 when he was arrested.

After being released from prison, Binh ran a loan sharking business, fought over territory, and caused many injuries..While serving his sentence, Binh continued to gather and attract followers to form gangs to fight with other prisoners during his time in prison. Once, Binh beat his brother-in-law, causing 12% injury, so he was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

In his gangster activities, Binh once challenged the boss Truong Van Cam (Nam Cam). The peak of Binh "Kiem"'s criminal activities was in 2005, when he bought an AK gun, 5 pistols, more than 400 bullets, 2 grenades to join his accomplices in the kidnapping of the son of tycoon Tram Be to extort 10 million USD.
