On June 18, the inspection team of Tu Ky District Police conducted an inspection of environmental law compliance at YIDO VINA Company Limited. The team discovered that the company did not register for environmental protection as required. At the same time, it discharged domestic wastewater into the environment, with 5 parameters exceeding regulations.
Specifically, the total suspended solids in wastewater (TSS) parameter exceeded 1.15 times. The amount of oxygen needed for microorganisms to biologically oxidize organic matter in the first 5 days at a temperature of 20ºC (BOD5) exceeded 3.78 times. The total ammonium content (NH4+‑N) exceeds 11.54 times; Sulfide (S2-) exceeds 1.57 times. Water purity (coliform) exceeds 700 times, average wastewater discharge is less than 5m3/day.
In addition to the fine, the company must take measures to remedy the consequences of environmental pollution according to regulations. The company must pay more than 2 million VND for the cost of consulting for appraisal and analysis of wastewater samples.
