With a total score of 28.75, Nguyen Phuong Linh, a 12A2 student at Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, is the valedictorian of the D01 block nationwide this year.
In the D01 group, the Vinh Phuc female student achieved a perfect score of 10 in English, 9 in math and 9.75 in literature. In other subjects, Phuong Linh also achieved impressive scores: 9 in history; 9.75 in geography and 9.5 in civics.
"I was shocked when I heard the news that I became the national valedictorian of block D01", Phuong Linh said. After knowing the score, she called her mother, bursting into tears like a child in boundless happiness.
Although she had an estimated score after the exam, the Vinh Phuc female student never thought she would be the candidate with the highest score. Therefore, the result of being valedictorian was an unexpected joy, a lucky gift for Phuong Linh and her family.
The valedictorian of block D01 confided that she was fortunate to be exposed to English from an early age and had good conditions to develop her talent for learning foreign languages. Since the age of 5, the female student often communicated basic sentences with her mother, who was a teacher. Linh was also always interested in foreign cartoons through CDs her mother bought for her.
Considering English as a language tool that opens up many great opportunities in the future, the older Phuong Linh gets, the more she focuses on learning foreign languages and considers it a passion. The female student tries to approach learning English in the most natural way through reading books, watching movies, listening to music and communicating with foreigners every day.
Thanks to her tireless efforts, during her high school years, Phuong Linh was honored to achieve many impressive achievements such as: second and third prizes in the provincial excellent student competition in English; won a silver medal in the national English Olympic competition on the internet; achieved an IELTS score of 8.0 in grade 11.
"The important factor that helps you master the learning process is perseverance, self-studying properly and according to your own ability",female student expressed.
Sharing more about the secret to getting 9.75 points in literature, the 10X emphasized that when taking the test, one should not be rambling, but should be focused and have enough space. The female student's perspective on studying literature is more about thinking rather than memorizing and rote learning.
For math, to get high scores, 10X advises candidates to make the most of 100% of their time in class, focus on learning and not missing any knowledge. At home, self-study should be a top priority. When knowledge is solidified, they will be confident in doing their best on the test.
During the time studying for the high school graduation exam, Phuong Linh rarely stayed up late to study. For her, studying less but with quality and ensuring health are important factors, helping her maintain a comfortable spirit and confidently enter the exam.
Upon hearing that Phuong Linh had become the valedictorian of the D01 block nationwide, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, the homeroom teacher of class 12A12, could not hide her joy and pride. However, Ms. Huyen was not too surprised by her student's results."The achievement is your great effort, I am very happy and pleased for you", Ms. Thu Huyen said.
The female teacher commented that Phuong Linh is a well-behaved and hard-working student. In class, Linh always achieves excellent results and is in the top. In the 12th grade student quality assessment exam of the Vinh Phuc Department of Education and Training, the female student also achieved the top position in the province with a score of 56.4/60.
In addition to being a good student, Phuong Linh is also a responsible class monitor.''Phuong Linh has the ability to connect and create solidarity in the class. She is also active in extracurricular activities, becoming the head of the organizing committee of many projects and clubs in the school",said the female homeroom teacher.
Before becoming the valedictorian of the D01 block nationwide in 2024, Phuong Linh received scholarships from many universities such as: 75% tuition scholarship from British University Vietnam - BUV, 50% tuition scholarship from Fulbright University, 250 million VND scholarship from Swinburne University and 75% tuition scholarship from VinUni University.
Revealing her plans for the near future, the female student of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted plans to study at the Faculty of Business Administration Analysis at VinUni University.
