With 28.7 points in 3 subjects of block A, Vu Tan Sang, a student of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted (Hai Duong City) became the valedictorian of block A of Hai Duong province in the 2024 high school graduation exam. His dream is to become an automation control engineer.
Tan Sang achieved impressive results with a score of 9.2 in math, 9.5 in physics, and 10 in chemistry. In addition, Sang also had impressive scores in literature with a score of 8.25, biology with a score of 8.5, and English with a score of 8.8.
Sharing with Hai Duong Newspaper reporters, the male student from the hometown of famous general Yet Kieu (Gia Loc) said that after knowing his exam results, he was very happy. He was even happier because he did not think he would be the top student in the A group of the whole province. This result is another meaningful gift he gives to his teachers and parents.
Before taking the high school graduation exam, Tan Sang was admitted to the control and automation engineering program at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He was admitted through a combination of talent selection and interview with 106.15 points, 20 points more than enough.
Tan Sang said that the control and automation engineering industry belongs to the fields of information technology, electronics, automation and mechanics. The industry focuses on developing automatic systems and information processing machines that operate according to human wishes. Therefore, the industry has many very practical applications in reality.
“Since I was a child, I have loved assembling toy models and controlling devices remotely. I also learned about the structure, operation and repair of those toy devices. As I grew up, that love and passion grew even more. Therefore, I always aspired to become an engineer who controls machines and automatic devices, analyzes and develops control systems. Becoming a student of control and automation engineering is a good opportunity for me to practice, cultivate, develop myself, broaden my knowledge, absorb advanced technical achievements, thereby creating a good life for myself and contributing to the country and society,” Sang said.
The above achievements are the result of 12 years of studying by Tan Sang. During 3 years of studying chemistry at Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, he has achieved many remarkable achievements. The average score of math, physics, and chemistry in the 3 years of study is from 9.6 to 9.9 points. The average score of most other subjects is above 8. Tan Sang won the third prize in the national excellent student in chemistry for grade 12; the third prize in the provincial excellent student competition for grade 10 chemistry and the first prize in the provincial excellent student competition for grade 12 chemistry.
Sang also won a bronze medal in chemistry in the 2022 and 2023 exam for excellent students of specialized high schools in the coastal and Northern Delta regions; a bronze medal in chemistry in the Natural Science Olympiad - Hanoi National University and a number of other extracurricular achievements.
Sharing about his study method, Tan Sang said that he does not study too late, at the latest 11:30 pm. Because studying too late will reduce the effectiveness of studying for the next day. Instead, he focuses on studying and absorbing knowledge in class as well as at home. He often asks teachers and friends whenever he encounters difficulties in studying. In particular, he is very diligent in practicing questions to improve his knowledge. And the important thing is that studying must be mixed with reasonable entertainment.
His mother is a literature teacher at Gia Loc High School, his father is a military officer (Technical Department, Vietnam Air Defense - Air Force), so Sang has a good learning environment as well as motivation to try and has achieved the above achievements.
Sang's mother happily said she was very proud of her son. His achievements are a great gift for his teachers and family, especially his father. "He is cheerful, friendly, emotional, brave, determined, and responsible. Although he was admitted early to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, he did not neglect his studies. He did not want to let down his parents and teachers, so he studied very seriously," said Sang's mother.
