According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the rate of mechanization in rice production in Hai Duong province ranks first in the Red River Delta. Currently, farmers in the province have applied mechanization in all stages of rice production.

*The rate of machine planting in Hai Duong reaches about 15% of the cultivated area.*

The land preparation and rice harvesting stages have the highest mechanization rate, reaching 99%. Machine planting reaches 15%, fertilization and pesticide spraying reaches 40%. The rate of machine planting and pesticide spraying by drones is increasing. The whole province has 38 facilities producing tray rice seedlings and machine planting concentrated in the districts of Binh Giang, Cam Giang, Ninh Giang, etc.

Machine-transplanted rice has lower costs and higher productivity than manual transplanting due to reduced costs of seeds, labor, and pesticides. The economic efficiency of machine-transplanted rice is 23-37% higher.
