From Hai Phong to Kim Thanh district to sell drugs

On April 3, 2024, the People's Court of Kim Thanh district (Hai Duong) tried the defendants Pham Van Thien, born in 2002, residing in Duong Phu 1 village and Luu Thanh Chung, born in 2001, residing in Ngo Duong 4 village (both in An Hoa commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong city) for the crime of illegal drug trafficking under Clause 1, Article 251 of the Penal Code.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Kim Thanh district, at around 10:00 p.m. on December 17, 2023, in Tam Ky commune, a person called to buy 1 bag of Ketamine and 2 MDMA pills from Thien for 2.1 million VND. Because he did not have any drugs available, Thien bought 1 bag of Ketamine and 2 MDMA pills from Chung for 1.5 million VND.

At around 10:30 p.m. the same day, in Ky Coi village, Tam Ky commune (Kim Thanh), Thien gave the subject the above amount of drugs. At 11:40 p.m. the same day, while the subject was using the drugs bought from Thien, a working group of Kim Thanh district police in coordination with Tam Ky commune police discovered and seized the evidence.

On December 18, 2023, Pham Van Thien and Luu Thanh Chung surrendered to Kim Thanh District Police.

At the trial, the Trial Panel decided to sentence defendant Pham Van Thien to 27 months in prison and Luu Thanh Chung to 25 months in prison.
