A website impersonating the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center posts advertisements to help victims recover their scammed money with a 99.99% success rate.
On April 2, the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC), under the Ministry of Information and Communications, issued a warning about the website “policeonline.club” that impersonated the center’s website to post fraudulent advertising information.
Accordingly, this website is designed with many interface details similar to the official website of NCSC along with some articles and information warning about fraud in Vietnam's cyberspace to create trust in viewers.
However, along with that is information such as: "Fighting for justice, helping victims of fraud through cyberspace", "Success rate of getting money back 99.99%, through the cyberspace monitoring center"...
At the same time, the website has many connections to lure users to contact the impostor via phone calls, Zalo messages, Messenger, reporting via the website...
NCSC warns people to be careful and absolutely do not access the above link to avoid being scammed.
The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) is a unit under the Department of Information Security, with the function of monitoring and supporting information security for people, businesses and information systems of the Party and State according to the provisions of law.
Previously, the Department of Information Security also warned about the situation on Facebook where a series of fanpages, associations, and groups claiming to be "officers of the Department of Cyber Security" and police of some units and localities appeared, posting articles saying they would support victims to get back their money that had been defrauded by high-tech criminals.
Authorities recommend that people absolutely do not provide personal information to anyone through any form. Information leakage will lead to many worrying consequences.
When receiving strange calls or contacting groups providing services on social networks, absolutely do not make money transfers to strangers without researching and verifying their identity.
People, especially those who have been financially scammed, should be extremely cautious of websites or social networking groups that constantly run advertisements and solicitations to get back lost money.
Regarding social media accounts and OTT applications, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention said it is reviewing and will publicize the list of these links for people to know.
If you encounter a situation of suspected fraud, do not hesitate to contact the police for timely advice and support.
