On July 10, the Criminal Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) informed that it had just successfully dismantled a gambling ring and organized gambling in the form of football betting through the website Bong88.xxx, with a total amount of more than 500 billion VND.
This case was established after the Criminal Police Department discovered a gambling ring organized and gambled through the website Bong88.xxx. Many local police, including Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, participated in the verification and collection of documents.
After a period of investigation, on July 1, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with local police to simultaneously summon suspects and search related locations.
The investigation agency identified Cao Dinh Hung (33 years old, Phuoc Long ward, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province) as the leader of this ring. Hung used the super master account DZxx with 19 other suspects to organize gambling and gamble in the form of betting on football matches of different tournaments.
At Euro 2024 and Copa America, the suspects bet hundreds of millions of dong on many football matches. Initially, the suspects said they paid for football betting wins and losses every Monday, either in cash or via bank transfer.
Checking the account of super general agent DZxx, the authorities determined that from February until now, the transaction amount of this gambling line is more than 500 billion VND.
The case is under further investigation.
