Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thach is the only Hai Duong associate professor in the field of transportation in 2024.

Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thach, from Binh Giang district (Hai Duong), has just been recognized as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor in the field of transportation in 2024.

In 2024, the transport sector will have 26 candidates recognized by the State Council of Professors as meeting the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor.

Among them, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thach (born in 1971), from Binh Giang district (Hai Duong), is the oldest new associate professor and also the only associate professor from Hai Duong in the transportation industry this year.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thach is currently a lecturer in the Department of Maritime Affairs, Faculty of Maritime Affairs, Vietnam Maritime University.

New Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thach shared: “When I received the decision to recognize me as an Associate Professor in the field of transport in 2024, I felt very happy and joyful. This is an important milestone in my teaching and scientific research career.

Like all the teachers recognized as professors and associate professors this year, I also have a process of continuous efforts in teaching and scientific research to achieve the associate professor standards of the State Council of Professors."

According to the application for recognition of meeting the standards for the title of associate professor in 2024, Mr. Thach received a bachelor's degree in electronics and telecommunications from the Maritime University (now Vietnam Maritime University) in June 2002.

In August 2006, Mr. Thach was awarded a master's degree in electronic engineering from the Military Technical Academy.

In January 2018, he received his PhD in Marine Science from Vietnam Maritime University.

Up to now, Mr. Thach has had 22 years of training from university level and above. During the training process, the associate professor has guided 3 graduate students to successfully defend their master's theses.

In scientific research, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thach focuses on three main research directions: training to improve maritime safety and security; ensuring environmental security in maritime activities; researching, developing and manufacturing equipment in maritime activities.

Mr. Thach has completed 2 ministerial-level scientific research projects and 3 school-level scientific research projects.

At the same time, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thach has published 31 scientific articles, of which 4 scientific articles were published in prestigious international journals (ISI/Scopus) in which he is the main author.

During his teaching career at Vietnam Maritime University, Mr. Thach published two books, contributing to enriching learning and research materials for students as well as professionals.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thach also participated in building the regular university training program specializing in ship control at Vietnam Maritime University.

Sharing more about his upcoming plans, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thach said: "My upcoming research direction is still in the field of ensuring maritime, waterway and sea safety because I am currently working and teaching at Vietnam Maritime University and that is also the research direction I have pursued for many years.

In addition, I will continue to teach and guide graduate students and doctoral students to successfully defend their theses and dissertations. Along with that, I will look for more interesting and good topics that can be applied to real life, so that I can continue to contribute more scientific works."
