Create all favorable conditions for Samsung to continue doing business in Vietnam

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for Samsung to continue doing business in Vietnam.

During his official visit to South Korea on July 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation visited Samsung Group's semiconductor complex in Gyeonggi province - Samsung's largest semiconductor manufacturing facility in the world - to learn about the semiconductor industry development model that Vietnam is aiming for.

Samsung Vice Chairman and CEO Young Hyun Jun, Samsung Chief Financial Officer Hark Kyu Park and senior leaders of the Group accompanied the Prime Minister to visit Samsung Group's semiconductor product models.

Semiconductors are core technologies, along with other technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI)... playing an essential role in the development of science, technology and the global economy, especially in the era of the 4th industrial revolution.

Samsung has focused on investing in developing the semiconductor industry, providing foundation products for electronic devices, microchips and other electronic components, widely used in all areas of life, from smartphones, computers, to cars and medical equipment...

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his impression when witnessing with his own eyes the achievements of Samsung Group in the field of high technology in general and semiconductors in particular, contributing to the improvement in the quality of life of billions of people around the world.

Recognizing the effective investment and business activities of Samsung Group in the fields of manufacturing industry, producing electronic equipment and components in Vietnam over the past nearly 20 years and having actively contributed to the socio-economic development of Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for Samsung to continue its business activities in Vietnam.

Regarding Vietnam's priority to promote the semiconductor and AI industries in the coming period, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam welcomes and encourages investors in semiconductor and AI technology, while promoting the ecosystem for these fields; said that Vietnam will perfect its policies and institutions, train high-quality human resources, develop infrastructure... to best serve corporations investing in developing the semiconductor industry.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated and believed that Samsung Group would always develop and cooperate in successful and sustainable investment in Vietnam.

On the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife visited the family of Mr. Jang Yeong Gak and Ms. Vu Thai Linh - a Vietnamese-Korean multicultural family in Osan city, Gyeonggi province.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was delighted to witness the warm, happy, successful and progressive life of Jang Yeong Gak and Vu Thai Linh, as well as the Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Korea; he said that nearly 800 years ago, when Prince Ly Long Tuong left Dai Viet for Korea, the two peoples of Vietnam and Korea had a predestined relationship.

Through ups and downs and breakthroughs, Vietnam-Korea relations have never been as good as they are today.

In Korea, there are nearly 300,000 Vietnamese people working, studying and living, and about 200,000 Korean people working and living in Vietnam; the two countries have up to 80,000 Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families.

Believing that Vietnamese people in Korea, especially Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families, are bridges that foster relations between the two countries and peoples, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that the families of Jang Yeong Gak and Vu Thai Linh in particular and Vietnamese people in Korea in general will continue to unite, work hard, study, research, do business, and build a beautiful life; at the same time, preserve the cultural beauty that the two countries have many similarities in, comply with local laws, behave culturally, contribute to promoting the image of the country, culture, and people of Vietnam, and foster increasingly good relations between Vietnam and Korea.

This is the final activity of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife during their official visit to Korea from June 30 to July 3 at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Han Duck Soo and his wife.

That same evening, the Prime Minister and his wife, along with the Vietnamese delegation, left Seoul for Hanoi, successfully concluding the visit.
