Dong Nai police detained Nguyen Van An, General Director of Loc Phuc Company, and 21 employees who staged a "ghost project" sale to lure customers into a trap.
On September 6, Dong Nai Province Police are temporarily detaining Nguyen Van An, 27 years old, General Director of Loc Phuc Company (address: Ward 2, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City), the mastermind of the case of staging a scene to sell a "ghost project" to lure customers into a trap that was recently busted by the police.
In addition, the police also detained 21 other people, including managers and employees of this company, to investigate the same act of "fraudulent appropriation of property". These people were arrested while introducing customers to "ghost projects" in An Vien commune, Trang Bom district.
Specifically, Nguyen Van An was identified as the leader of a fraud organization disguised as a real estate company with hundreds of participants. This organization operates very sophisticatedly, with a script and assigned ranks to each person.
Previously, Dong Nai Provincial Police received a report from people living in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City accusing Loc Phuc Company of fraud, so they set up a special project to fight and destroy it.
On August 31, police discovered that Loc Phuc Company organized an event to open a "trading floor", transporting dozens of customers from other places to a "ghost project" in An Vien commune, Trang Bom district to make transactions.
Major General Nguyen Sy Quang, Director of Dong Nai Provincial Police, has directed the destruction of this fraudulent organization disguised as a real estate business company.
Immediately, hundreds of police officers rushed in and caught Nguyen Van An and 185 people involved. Among them were 122 employees, 20 people hired to pretend to be customers, and 43 customers who were victims.
At the same time, the police also searched the headquarters of Loc Phuc Company and seized 50 boxes of documents, many computers, electronic devices, more than 2.4 billion VND, 18 thousand Japanese Yen; 3.5 thousand USD; 24.3 taels of gold; 7 cars, etc. to serve the investigation.
Since June 2022, the company has started organizing a number of projects in Dong Nai province. To lure customers, the company has recruited about 100 students to work part-time, do internships, and work as subordinates, then instructed them to go to social networking sites to find beautiful houses in Ho Chi Minh City, take photos, and post them on the company's website and Cho Tot to introduce them for sale.
Many people who want to buy houses in Ho Chi Minh City have contacted Loc Phuc Company. Then, this company arranged to meet at a location and took the customers on a 52-seat bus to Dong Nai. At this time, the bus was arranged with "extras" hired to pretend to be "bait" to attract and entice customers to participate.
After the customer has made a deposit, the company's staff will take the customer to a notary office in a "remote" location. Later, if the customer has any complaints or denunciations, the staff who directly deals with them will cancel the junk SIM and block communication.
