On September 1, the Investigation Police Agency of Van Yen District Police (Yen Bai) issued a decision to temporarily detain Mr. Hoang Van Lao (born in 1947, residing in Khe Can village, Dong An commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province) for murder.
Before that, at around 7:00 p.m. on August 31, Mr. Hoang Van Lao went to his daughter, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy (born in 1978), who lives next door, to reclaim the electric bicycle. During the conversation, a conflict arose between Ms. Thuy and Mr. Lao. Mr. Lao said that the electric bicycle was the property that he and his wife bought and wanted to get it back, while Ms. Thuy did not want her father to mention her mother who had passed away not long before...
When Mr. Lao was leading the electric bike out of the house, Ms. Thuy accidentally pushed her father over. In a fit of anger and a little bit of alcohol, Mr. Lao lost control and used the sharp knife he was carrying to stab Ms. Thuy in the side.
Upon discovering the incident, people took Ms. Thuy to the hospital for emergency treatment, but due to the severity of her injuries, the victim died. Upon receiving the information, Van Yen District Police arrived at the scene and arrested Mr. Lao.
The case is currently being investigated and clarified by the Investigation Police Agency of Van Yen District Police.
