The tank commander who crashed the gate of the Independence Palace interacted with young people preparing to join the army in Gia Loc.

On the morning of February 22, Captain Vu Dang Toan, who commanded tank 390 that crashed into the gate of the Independence Palace, interacted and talked with young people preparing to join the army in Gia Loc (Hai Duong).

At the meeting, Captain Vu Dang Toan, former commander of tank 390 that crashed into the gate of Independence Palace on April 30, 1975, recounted the fierce battles during the war, the hardships of participating in the resistance war, and the heroic sacrifices of soldiers to protect the independence of the nation. He advised the young men before leaving for military service to maintain their spirit, not to be afraid of difficulties, to constantly train and strive to be worthy of the title "Uncle Ho's soldiers".

The seminar took place in a joyful and warm atmosphere, showing the concern of district leaders, departments, branches and local organizations for new recruits leaving for the task of protecting the Fatherland.

In 2024, Gia Loc district was assigned a target of 215 citizens to join the army. Of these, 20 young people volunteered to join the army, and 78 young people attended a class on Party awareness.

The district military service council presented gifts to 215 new recruits with a total value of nearly 110 million VND.
