Great source of encouragement

Decree No. 16/2025/ND-CP dated February 4, 2025 of the Government amending Decree No. 72/2020/ND-CP dated June 30, 2020 regulating the allowance level for the position of militia and self-defense commander, effective from March 23, 2025.

The positions of commander, deputy commander, political commissar, and deputy political commissar of the Commune Military Command (abbreviated as militia and self-defense commander) will have their monthly allowance increased.

Specifically, commanders and political commissars of commune-level military commands; commanders and political commissars of military commands of agencies and organizations are entitled to an allowance of VND 561,600 (the old regulation was VND 357,600).

Deputy commanders and deputy political commissars of commune-level military commands; deputy commanders and deputy political commissars of military commands of agencies and organizations; battalion commanders and battalion political commissars; company commanders and political commissars of mobile militia and self-defense companies are entitled to an allowance of VND 514,800 (the old regulation was VND 327,800).

In addition, the village team leader is entitled to an allowance of VND 280,800 and an additional 100% of the squad leader's allowance when concurrently serving as a squad leader of the local militia or 100% of the platoon leader's allowance when concurrently serving as a platoon leader of the local militia.

Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Ky Son Commune (Tu Ky) was very excited to hear the above information. Mr. Trung said that this is a very appropriate regulation and policy, demonstrating the concern of the Party and State.

"This increase in allowance will also encourage and motivate us to do our work better," Trung shared.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Duat spent many years as Deputy Commander and then Commander of the Military Command of Nghia An Commune (Ninh Giang). Mr. Duat actively researched and proposed to the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune many effective solutions to carry out local defense and military tasks, especially military recruitment. Every year, the commune always fulfills its targets, with good quality, which is recognized and highly appreciated by superiors.

Mr. Duat believes that the increase in allowance is a great source of encouragement, motivating him to be more committed and responsible in his work, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation.

Timely

According to statistics from the Provincial Military Command, the province currently has 207 commanders and 211 deputy commanders of the Commune Military Command. Political commissars are held by the Commune Party Committee Secretary; deputy political commissars are held by the Commune Youth Union Secretary.

The Provincial Military Command is advising the province to implement Decree 16 of the Government, ensuring proper payment of regimes and policies for cadres working in military and national defense at the grassroots level.

The Hai Duong Provincial Military Command said that this regulation is even more meaningful when implemented on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the tradition of the militia and self-defense force (March 28, 1935 - March 28, 2025).

“The commander and deputy commander of the Military Command at the grassroots level must perform well the function of advising the local Party Committee and government in building a strong and widespread militia and self-defense force; innovate and improve the quality of training, combat readiness, and exercises, thereby consolidating and building an increasingly solid defense posture in communes, wards, and towns. This is also the shock force, taking the lead in all situations, performing the tasks of preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics, searching and rescuing, protecting and preventing forest fires, protecting the environment, and other civil defense tasks,” said Vu Hong Anh, Commander of the Provincial Military Command.
