"Supporting" Hai Duong youth to join the army

On February 25, 2,500 young men from Hai Duong will leave for duty to protect the Fatherland. In order to promptly encourage the spirit of readiness to join the army for young men, these days, localities have been implementing many practical care and encouragement activities.

On the morning of February 8 (29th of Lunar New Year), 26 disadvantaged young men from Tu Ky district who were preparing to join the army attended a meeting and presented gifts at the district military command. At the program, the young men were encouraged and motivated by the district leaders. Each gift worth 1.5 million VND was handed to each new soldier. In addition to the gifts from the district military command, this year local socio-political and humanitarian organizations and the Hai Duong Provincial Tourism Association also joined in this activity.

On this occasion, all 23 communes and towns of Tu Ky district also presented hundreds of gifts to young people preparing to join the army. On February 23, Tu Ky District Youth Union will organize the first military camp for young people preparing to join the army with many exciting activities such as camping, exchanges, traditional talks, folk games, etc.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Truong, Commander of the Tu Ky District Military Command, this year the gift-giving activities for new recruits in difficult circumstances were organized early, took place in a concentrated manner and the value of the gifts was also higher. Along with doing a good job of checking and managing the number of soldiers and the health status of new recruits before the enlistment day, the District Military Service Council paid attention to organizing and implementing policies for the army's rear, cultural and artistic exchange activities, visiting and giving gifts to encourage new recruits, opening classes to foster awareness of the Party for outstanding new recruits, creating an exciting atmosphere towards the enlistment day.

These days, the house of young man Pham Van Manh's family in Quy Cao village, Nguyen Giap commune (Tu Ky) is filled with the laughter of friends and relatives coming to celebrate and encourage Manh to join the army. Although he is not old enough to perform military service and his family is in difficult circumstances, Manh has written an application to volunteer for military service. His volunteer spirit has been highly appreciated and promptly commended by the local authorities. Manh shared: "I am very touched by the affection and care of local leaders, organizations and unions for young people preparing to join the army, and I feel that I need to train well in the military environment."

In 2024, Kim Thanh district will hand over 170 young men to military units of the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 3. On February 7, the Military Command of Kim Thanh district visited and presented gifts to young men who are preparing to join the army and are in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 500,000 VND. Communes also organized delegations to visit, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of young men and present many gifts. Thereby, encouraging and motivating young men to enthusiastically join the army. Up to now, 100% of the district's young men who are eligible to perform military service are in the mindset of "going when ordered".

According to the Provincial Military Command, this year, all district-level localities will organize exchanges, meetings, and gift-giving for young people preparing to join the army, focusing on after the Lunar New Year. The activities are practical, effective, and appropriate to the situation of each unit. This Lunar New Year, localities will also organize delegations to visit and give gifts to encourage young people, while paying special attention to young people in difficult circumstances, young people from families with preferential policies, and young people volunteering to join the army...

In 2024, the whole province will hand over 2,500 male citizens (an increase of 100 people compared to 2023) to 12 focal units under the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 3. Up to now, 100% of the eligible young men are ready to join the army.

To achieve this result, in addition to strictly implementing the law, ensuring publicity and transparency in the steps of military recruitment, the Military Service Councils at all levels in the province have focused on promoting the people's understanding of the Law on Military Service, life in the military environment, and the regimes and policies that soldiers and their relatives enjoy. Localities join hands to take care of and well implement the rear policy in military recruitment, creating more motivation for each young person to confidently go on duty for the Fatherland.
