Due to competition in recruiting seasonal workers, Nguyen Van Phuong's group beat another group.
The defendants at the trial
On the afternoon of September 27, the People's Court of Thanh Mien district held a first-instance trial of the criminal case against the defendants: Nguyen Van Phuong (born in 1986, in Tieu Lam village, Ngu Hung commune), Bui Duc Truong (born in 1988, in Phu Tai 1 village, Thanh Giang commune), Vu Van Hoc (born in 1991, in Phuong Khe village, Chi Lang Bac commune, Thanh Mien district) and Nguyen Truong Son (born in 2001, in Tien Liet village, Tan Phong commune, Ninh Giang) for the crime of disturbing public order.
According to the indictment, Mr. Pham Xuan Manh in Tan Quang commune (Ninh Giang) provided a service to recruit seasonal workers. On the morning of July 12, 2021, Mr. Manh hired Mr. Doan Duy Hoang, a person from the same commune, to drive a car to take about 20 workers to GFT Unique Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Tieu Son village, Thanh Giang commune to complete the procedures for recruiting seasonal workers. When arriving at the company gate, Mr. Hoang met a group of Phuong, Hoc, Son and some young men with unknown names, ages, and addresses who prevented the car from entering the company. Phuong told Mr. Hoang that today, the company would not accept workers to work with the intention of preventing workers from entering the company. At that moment, Mr. Manh and Mr. Pham Duy Thang, a person from the same hometown, arrived.
Phuong's group continued to block Manh's car from entering the company. Phuong called Truong from inside the company and told Thang to drive out of the company gate. A moment later, the two groups got into a conflict and fought. Phuong, Truong, Hoc, and Son continuously punched, kicked, and stomped on each other, injuring Manh and Thang.
The hooliganism of these subjects disrupted security and order, causing confusion for workers coming to work.
In this case, Phuong was the active practitioner and played the main role, the defendants Truong, Hoc and Son were accomplices.
At the end of the trial, the court sentenced defendant Phuong to 7 months in prison, defendant Truong to 6 months in prison, and defendants Hoc and Son to 3 months in prison each.
