According to Al Jazeera channel on June 1, specifically, warplanes attacked locations in the town of Ain Qana in southern Lebanon, along with the villages of Aadloun and Hamila.

Israel also struck military observation posts near the villages of Tayr Harfa, Jibbain and Hayam; struck a rocket launcher in the Majdal Zoun area and several other infrastructure facilities near the village of Rachaya Al Foukhar.

The Israeli military added that it detected two launches from southern Lebanon early on June 1, but both objects fell in an open area in Yiftah, in northern Israel.

Previously, on April 13, four Israeli soldiers were injured by Hezbollah artillery fire. Since the start of the fighting with Hezbollah, a total of 14 Israeli soldiers and 10 civilians have been killed.

On May 29, Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Aroldo Lazaro Saenz called on Lebanon and Israel to cease fire and seek a diplomatic solution to end the border conflict.

Lazaro Saenz made the statement on the occasion of the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers (29 May), expressing regret at the deaths and destruction on both sides of the Green Line - the area marking the border between Lebanon and Israel. In a UNIFIL statement, Lazaro Saenz called on all parties to cease fire, reaffirm their commitment to UN Resolution 1701 and begin working towards a diplomatic solution. This is the only way to restore stability and resolve the current situation.

Lazaro Saenz stressed the need for stability in the region. According to him, the UNIFIL peacekeeping force from 49 countries is present in the border area between Lebanon and Israel, focusing on preventing the escalation of fighting and avoiding a full-scale war between the two sides. Mr. Lazaro Saenz said that the annual event to honor peacekeepers was not organized by UNIFIL this year, due to the unstable security situation in southern Lebanon.
