Israeli sources said about 20 rockets launched from Lebanon fell on northern Israel on May 5, damaging infrastructure and causing power outages in some areas.

Earlier in the day, Hezbollah in Lebanon issued a statement saying it had launched dozens of missiles towards northern Israel in response to an earlier Israeli airstrike on southern Lebanon that killed four civilians.

Mutual air strikes between Israel and Hezbollah have been frequent since conflict broke out in the Gaza Strip last October.

However, both sides are said to be holding back from a full-scale war.

According to the latest statistics, more than 250 Hezbollah members and 75 Lebanese civilians were killed in Israeli airstrikes, while rockets launched from Lebanon also took the lives of dozens of Israeli soldiers and a number of civilians.
