Many high-chassis car models are selling very well on the market but are still heavily discounted by manufacturers in December to stimulate year-end demand.
Although the 50% reduction in registration fees under the Government's support policy has ended, the domestic automobile market in December is still forecast to continue to be "hot" thanks to the continuous price reductions and promotions of many car manufacturers.
Notably, not only unsold, unsold cars receive big promotions, but even names that are regularly in the top 10 best-selling cars also receive discounts from tens to hundreds of millions of dong.
Honda CR-V reduced by more than 100 million VND
This December, Japanese automaker Honda is teaming up with dealers to offer discounts on many of its models in the form of registration fee incentives or cash. In particular, the best-selling C-size crossover Honda CR-V is offered a 50% registration fee discount by dealers for all versions, except the imported hybrid version.
With the addition of accessories, the price of the CR-V has been reduced by more than 100 million VND, bringing the starting price to just over 900 million VND for the standard CR-V G version (listed price 1.029 billion VND). This selling price has significantly narrowed compared to competitors in the same segment such as Mazda CX-5 (749-959 million), Hyundai Tucson (769-979 million) or KIA Sportage (779-919 million),...
In addition, the B-SUV Honda HR-V G version priced at 699 million VND and the 7-seat BR-V L version with a listed price of 705 million VND are also entitled to a 50% discount on registration fees in December, equivalent to a reduction of about 35 million VND per car. These are two versions that sell slower than the other versions of these two models.
Toyota Corolla Cross reduced by 41 million VND
Although the preferential registration fee for domestically produced and assembled cars has ended, Japanese car manufacturer Toyota continues to support 50-100% of the registration fee for its best-selling car models.
In particular, imported high-chassis models such as Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross gasoline versions are supported with 50% of registration fees with the converted value for Yaris Cross being 33-38 million VND and Corolla Cross V version being 41 million VND.
In addition to multi-purpose vehicles, in December, customers who buy Toyota MPV models Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio will receive 100% support for registration fees from the manufacturer. This incentive is double that of the previous month. The conversion value for Veloz is 64-66 million VND, and for Avanza it is 56-60 million VND depending on the version.
Ford Territory reduced listed price by 40 million VND
Ford Vietnam has just reduced the listed price of its best-selling C-size SUV Territory by VND40 million for all versions starting from December, bringing the selling price down to under VND900 million.
Specifically, the listed price of the Territory Trend version has been reduced to 759 million VND; the Titanium version to 849 million VND; the Sport version to 869 million VND and the highest-end version Territory Titanium X to 889 million VND.
In addition to adjusting the listed price of Territory, Ford Vietnam also applied a 50% discount on registration fees for its two best-selling high-chassis models, Ford Ranger and Everest, in December.
Specifically, customers who buy the Ford Ranger pickup truck will receive a conversion support of 21.2 - 39.0 million VND. The D-SUV Everest model will receive a cash discount of 15-22 million VND depending on the version. The Everest Ambiente AT version will still receive an additional 50% reduction in registration fees with a total conversion value of 55 million VND.
Meanwhile, customers who buy the imported full-size SUV Ford Explorer continue to receive a preferential price of 100 million VND, bringing the car price down to 1.999 billion VND. This can be said to be a move by the American automaker to push inventory at a time when the car market is entering the last peak month of the year.
