On March 18, Xiaomi announced the delivery of the 200,000th SU7 sedan in the first-ever Magenta color. The owner of this car is a young couple.

Xiaomi delivered 200,000 SU7s in 348 days, with the Chinese tech giant taking 229 days to deliver the first 100,000 units and just 119 days to deliver the next 100,000 units.

Currently, Xiaomi only sells one model - the SU7 sedan, which was launched on March 28 last year in three versions. In early March, the high-performance SU7 Ultra version was added.

Despite being on the market for nearly a year, the Xiaomi SU7 still maintains its appeal. The mid-range version SU7 Pro is almost sold out for 2025, when the current waiting time for car buyers is 43 - 46 weeks. The standard version SU7 Standard has a waiting time of 36 - 39 weeks (9 - 10 months), the high-end version SU7 Max is 30 - 33 weeks (7.5 - 8 months).

According toCarNewsChina, the long waiting time has quickly become a concern in China. Xiaomi's public relations director Wang Hua responded that the company is doing its best to increase production capacity to meet its target of delivering 300,000 vehicles. Last year, Xiaomi delivered 139,487 vehicles, so this year, the company aims to double its production capacity.

Xiaomi’s deliveries are currently constrained by production capacity. The company has a 720,000-square-meter factory in Beijing with a capacity of 150,000 vehicles per year. Construction on the factory began in April 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in June 2023. The second phase, which will cover about 531,000 square meters, will begin in September 2024 and will produce the YU7 SUV in the near future.

The standard Xiaomi SU7 starts at 215,900 yuan ($29,830) in China in RWD and AWD versions. The high-performance SU7 Ultra, launched earlier this month, starts at 529,000 yuan ($73,200) and is powered by a 1,138 kW electric motor and a 93.7 kWh battery from CATL, providing a range of up to 630 km (380 miles) in CLTC. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h.
