Many universities such as Polytechnic, Natural Sciences, Commerce, Hanoi Medicine... predict that the admission scores will not decrease compared to last year, slightly increasing by 0.25-1 point in "hot" majors.

Candidates attend a university and college admissions consultation session in Hanoi on the morning of July 20.

After candidates finish registering their wishes on July 30, universities have about two weeks to virtually filter and then announce the admission scores.

Master Nguyen Quang Trung, Deputy Head of Training Management Department,University of Commerce(TMU), said that in recent years, the school's average benchmark score is 26, some hot majors such as Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management are from 27 and above.

This year, the average score of 6 out of 9 graduation exam subjects increased from 0.06 to 1.04 compared to 2023. Meanwhile, the percentage of quotas that the school allocates for this method decreased from 50% to 40%. Therefore, Mr. Trung predicts that the benchmark score will increase slightly, about 0.25 in hot majors, while the rest will remain stable.

With 8 international career-oriented programs (IPOP), Mr. Trung said the benchmark score will be lower - around 24, because they are newly recruited and not widely known.

InBanking Academy(BA), Mr. Tran Manh Ha, Head of Training Department, commented that with the graduation exam score range this year, the benchmark scores of the academy and top schools will generally remain the same or increase slightly compared to last year.

WithSchoolHanoi Open University(HOU), Mr. Do Ngoc Anh, Director of the Center for Communications and Admissions, predicted that the admission threshold to the school will increase, but it is unlikely to increase dramatically.

In the engineering and technology group, schools also have the same opinion.

A week ago,Hanoi University of Science and Technology(HUST) has predicted the benchmark scores for all majors. The three majors expected to have the highest input are Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence with a score of over 28. These are also the majors with the highest benchmark scores in recent years.

On the other hand, some majors are expected to only take 20-22.75 points such as Textile Technology, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources and Environment Management, Materials Science and Engineering (advanced program). The forecast level of these majors is about 0.75 points higher than last year.

SchoolUniversity of Science(HUS), Hanoi National University, believes that the admission score will be between 20-26.5 for majors on a scale of 30 and 33-35.5 on a scale of 40.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Son, Vice Principal, the Natural Science exams with scores of 8 or higher increased slightly compared to last year. Therefore, the benchmark score will likely remain the same or increase by 0.5-1 for related combinations.

For the health group, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tung, Head of Training Management DepartmentHanoi Medical University(HMU), predicts that the admission scores for Medicine and Dentistry will increase by about 0.5-1 point compared to last year, approaching the 28.85 and 28.45 levels of 2021.

The reason is that this year the school has reduced the enrollment quota by 20%, based entirely on graduation exam scores, to 60%. In addition, according to the graduation exam score distribution, more than 310 candidates achieved 28.5 points or higher in the B00 combination (math, chemistry, biology), without priority. This is the group of candidates who often register for the two majors mentioned above.

The benchmark scores for other majors using the B00 combination also tend to increase.

Regarding Psychology, a major that recruits first-year students and is getting a lot of attention because it recruits the C00 group (literature, history, geography), Mr. Tung said that the benchmark score is also high, possibly equivalent to other schools that are training in this major. Like last year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, set the benchmark score at 28.

The graduation exam will take place at the end of June. According to the score distribution of each subject and the 5 traditional university admission combinations announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on July 17, many admissions experts also predict that the university admission scores will increase in many combinations, especially the C00 group, by 0.25 to 3 points.

University benchmark scores will be announced before 5:00 p.m. on August 19.
