The People's Committee of Hai Duong province has just announced the schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025 in the province.
Accordingly, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have 9 days off for the At Ty Lunar New Year, from Saturday, January 25, 2025 (December 26, Giap Thin year) to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (January 5, At Ty year). This number of days off is 2 days more than the Giap Thin Lunar New Year.
According to the regulations of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, this group of people will have 4 days off for National Day (from Saturday, August 30 to Tuesday, September 2); 5 days off for the anniversary of Victory Day, April 30 and International Labor Day, May 1 (from Wednesday, April 30 to Sunday, May 4 and will work on Saturday, April 26).
Employees who are not included in the above categories are entitled to 5 days off for the Lunar New Year. To arrange days off for employees, employers can choose from the following options: 1 day at the end of the year of Giap Thin and 4 days at the beginning of the year of At Ty; 2 days at the end of the year of Giap Thin and 3 days at the beginning of the year of At Ty or 3 days at the end of the year of Giap Thin and 2 days at the beginning of the year of At Ty.
On the occasion of National Day, September 2, employees will have 2 days off. Employers can choose 1 of 2 options: give employees the day off from Monday, September 1 to Tuesday, September 2 or from Tuesday, September 2 to Wednesday, September 3.
If the weekly day off coincides with a public holiday or Tet holiday as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, the employee shall be entitled to take a compensatory weekly day off on the next working day as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.
Employers must notify employees of the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays at least 30 days in advance. The Provincial People's Committee encourages employers to apply the Lunar New Year, National Day, April 30 Victory Day and May 1 International Labor Day holidays in 2025 to employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.
Other weekly, public and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code.
The Provincial People's Committee noted that during holidays and Tet, agencies and units should arrange and organize their on-duty departments according to regulations and work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to organizations and people, including assigning officers and civil servants to be on-duty to handle sudden and unexpected tasks that may arise.
