Lexus RC/RC F will officially be discontinued from 2026, causing many people to regret

Bad news for the sports car enthusiast community around the world, as Lexus is taking its final steps before officially saying goodbye to its high-performance sports coupe line, the Lexus RC and the RC F version. Toyota's luxury car brand is planning to build the last 200 Lexus RC Fs with a "cosmetic" Limited version to sell in the US and Japanese markets as a final customer appreciation activity before the model is officially discontinued. The production line will continue to operate until the end of November 2025.

Since its international launch in 2014, the Lexus RC has sold 79,000 units in 62 countries, a respectable figure even though it is not a big sales boost for Toyota. The RC F version is a performance upgrade, a formidable rival to the BMW M4, and has also sold 12,000 units in 57 countries.

The 2025 Lexus RC F Final Edition is now available to order in Japan, starting at $42,700 for the RC300 and rising to $87,300 for the 466-horsepower V8 version. Meanwhile, the limited edition Lexus RC F in the US market can be delivered to customers in the first quarter of this year. Currently, the Lexus RC F is the only 2-door Coupe sports car with a V8 engine distributed in the US, enough to understand how much interest car enthusiasts have in this special product. According to Carscoops, the final version of the RC F in the US can go up to a starting price of $94,000.

Lexus has remained silent on the upcoming high-performance 2-door sports car that will succeed the RC/RC F, but according to leaked sources from Japan, it is highly likely that a new 2+2-door Coupe model has been developed by Lexus, expected to replace both the RC and the more luxurious LC Coupe. According to the source, the naturally aspirated V8 engine may be eliminated in favor of a more fuel-efficient and efficient Hybrid V6 engine.
