The 2025 mid-life facelift Lexus LX will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain called the LX 700h.

The Lexus LX 700h still uses the same 3.4L twin-turbo V6 engine as the 600, but now has an additional electric motor with a clutch placed between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. Accordingly, the engine parameters are said to reach 436 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque.

Notably, this hybrid system is capable of operating on pure gasoline or electricity. That means the Lexus LX 700h can still operate on just the V6 engine when the electric motor has a problem.

Standard four-wheel drive, as well as important features like a transfer case, Active Height Control, and Active Traction Control, remain to ensure the LX's off-road capabilities.

The 700mm wading depth is also maintained thanks to the waterproof housing for the battery. In addition, the LX 700h is also equipped with a second generator so that the car can start the gasoline engine in case the electric motor fails.

Lexus engineers have refined the GA-F chassis for the 2025 LX. Redesigned cabin mounting pads reduce low-frequency vibrations, improving the efficiency of the Adaptive Variable Suspension with a new damper valve structure.

This not only improves smoothness in all operating conditions, but also helps reduce body vibration when braking suddenly or going off-road in low gear.

Finally, the LX 700h gets new cross-bracing and reinforced rear engine mounts, making up for the 120kg weight gain due to the addition of the hybrid system.

The exterior of the LX 700h 2025 is not too different from previous LX models. However, to create something new, the company has added the Overtrail configuration focusing on off-road capabilities, which has appeared on the GX and NX lines.

The Overtrail trim gets matte gray aluminum wheels and 265/70R18 all-terrain tires – a first for the LX. The exclusive Moon Desert exterior paint, black grille and dark accents give the vehicle a more aggressive look.

The interior of the Lexus LX Overtrail has only 5 seats to optimize weight, decorated with ash black details. This version is also equipped with a 30-liter auxiliary fuel tank, bringing the total capacity to 110 liters. In addition, the car is also available with front and rear differential locks, in addition to the standard center differential lock.

All 2025 Lexus LX models get a tech upgrade, with a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and faster wireless charging pads. VIP and Executive models get “relaxation seats” for both driver and passenger, offering five massage modes.

The Lexus+ safety system has been upgraded with many active driving support features. These include automatic emergency braking at intersections, driver monitoring cameras, remote parking assistance, etc.

Lexus LX 2025 will officially launch in late 2024.
