According to the plan, in November 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong will organize an exam to select excellent students in grade 9 for the 2024-2025 school year. The new point of this exam is that for the first time, it will rank excellent students in IT.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong will use the results of the IT exam to rank the teams of the Departments of Education and Training. In this exam last year, the Department of Education and Training started to include IT in the exam but did not rank the teams.
According to the Department of Education and Training, including information technology in the content of the excellent student exam aims to encourage students to actively study and research information technology, preparing students with the ability to receive, expand knowledge and be creative in the age of information, connection and globalization.
Up to this point, many Departments of Education and Training have organized district-level exams to select excellent grade 9 students and included the subject of information technology in the exam. There are also Departments of Education and Training that do not organize district-level exams to select excellent grade 9 students but have selected a team of excellent students in information technology.
In addition to computer science, students will take 8 subjects as in previous years, including: math, physics, chemistry, literature, history, geography, biology, and English. Candidates will take the exam in essay format. The English subject will combine essay and multiple choice, testing skills; the computer science subject will be practiced on computers. Notably, this year's exam will be the first time students will take the exam according to the new 2018 general education program.
In this exam in the 2023-2024 school year, the whole province has nearly 1,000 grade 9 students taking the exam to select excellent students. The Department of Education and Training has decided to recognize 586 grade 9 junior high school students who won prizes, including 10 first prizes.
