Two outstanding team leaders received the Kim Dong Award

Hai Duong has just had two excellent team commanders receive the Kim Dong Award for the 2022-2023 school year presented by the Central Council of Young Pioneers.

Phuong Trang and Minh Vu were honored to be 2 of 122 excellent team members receiving the Kim Dong Award on the morning of May 13.

They are Nguyen Phuong Trang (grade 9B, Nguyen Trai Secondary School, Nam Sach) and Vu Minh Vu (grade 5B, Kim Lien Primary School, Kim Thanh). Not only are these two team leaders good at studying, they are also active, creative, and have made many positive contributions to the activities of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team.

Nguyen Phuong Trang - an active and creative student


Phuong Trang actively proposed to the Team Leader to increase extracurricular activities for students.

At Nguyen Trai Secondary School, when mentioning Nguyen Phuong Trang, everyone knows that she is not only pretty, a good student but also an exemplary team leader.

Aware of the importance of studying, Phuong Trang always balances her studies and participation in activities and movements in class and at school. It is her constant efforts that have helped Trang achieve excellent student status for 8 consecutive years with an average score of 9.6 - 9.8, always in the top of the school. She has also achieved many high achievements in competitions such as the national encouragement prize in the English competition on the Internet, the 51st UPU International Letter Writing Competition, the second prize in the district-level excellent student competition in English, and the "Future Young Leader of Hai Duong Province" award in 2022.

Studying at the district's high-quality secondary school, Trang is always closely monitored by teachers so that she can try harder, improve her knowledge and complete her goals.

In the work of the Team, as the team leader, Phuong Trang always suggests to the Team Leader to increase extracurricular activities for students. Most recently, Nguyen Trai Secondary School has implemented the model of "Creative Experience Break Time", where students will play folk games such as O An Quan, jump rope, puzzles or puzzles. Through these games, they contribute to improving thinking, understanding as well as necessary skills for students.

“I always want to find the best way to study and practice for myself and I think my peers have the same thoughts. I feel that these extracurricular activities are very useful, helping us learn through games, connect with friends, and cultivate necessary skills,” Phuong Trang shared.

Over the years, the Young Pioneers movement of Nguyen Trai Secondary School has always been in the top of Nam Sach district. This is the second consecutive year that the school has had students receive the Kim Dong award.
Teacher Pham Thi Nga, Head of the Youth Union of Nguyen Trai Secondary School, commented on this student: “Trang is a diligent and studious student. With the Youth Union work, she always promotes her ability to be diligent, inquisitive, dynamic and creative. When assigning work to Trang, teachers are very assured because she is responsible for her work and always completes her tasks well. In her studies, Trang is very diligent, achieves many outstanding achievements, is sociable, helps her friends in their studies, and is loved by teachers and friends.”

Vu Minh Vu - a student with a talent for painting


Minh Vu is a good student, good at studying, talented in painting and English.

With a mother who is an art teacher, Vu has been trained in painting since he was a child. During his 5 years at Kim Lien Primary School, he continuously won many awards in painting competitions from district, provincial to central levels such as the encouragement prize in the national "Be a Little Inventor" painting competition, the promising prize in the "My Dream" painting competition launched by the Central Youth Union... In addition, Vu is also good at all subjects and has an outstanding talent in English. For many years, he has participated in the national Internet English competition.

As the school's team leader, Vu is always exemplary in all activities, leading the team to perform well all assigned tasks. He is always at the forefront of movements launched by the school or the team such as "Warm winter in the highlands", "Couples of friends progressing together", "Small plan". Vu is also a young propagandist on traffic safety, environmental protection, and is very active in the youth radio movement.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Minh Vu’s homeroom teacher, said: “Vu has been an exemplary student since childhood, very talented in painting and fine arts, and has won many national and Central Youth Union awards. In addition, he is also good at all subjects, diligent, hard-working in studying and active in Team activities such as dancing, singing, acting…”.

“I am very honored to know that I am one of two children in the province to receive the Kim Dong award this year. I will try every day to improve myself. As the team leader, I will try to build the team stronger and stronger, worthy of the award given by the Team Council,” Vu happily shared.

The achievements of Phuong Trang and Minh Vu contribute to the overall results of the work of the Young Pioneers and the children's movement of the province. Thereby, beautifying the image of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers, being a typical example for the young pioneers and children in the province to learn and follow.

The Kim Dong Award is a noble award of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, given annually to young Pioneers and Young Pioneer leaders with outstanding achievements in the work of the Young Pioneers and the children's movement. On the morning of May 13, in Hanoi, at the ceremony to celebrate the 82nd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers awarded 122 outstanding children with the Kim Dong Award for the 2022-2023 school year.
