Hai Duong launches Tet tree planting festival in the year of Giap Thin 2024

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang reiterated Uncle Ho's advice on the great significance and practical benefits of tree planting. That is, "this work costs little but has many benefits", "a long-term but gentle competition that everyone, from the elderly to children, can enthusiastically participate in". Along with the whole country, in recent years, Hai Duong province has focused on and paid attention to implementing Uncle Ho's will and the Party and State's policies on tree planting and afforestation. Party committees and authorities from the province to the grassroots level regularly take care of tree planting not only during Tet and spring, but also carry out the work within their capacity, in accordance with the actual situation.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang emphasized that from the summary and evaluation of the results of annual tree planting in the province, it shows that planting trees is just the beginning, but taking care of the trees so that they grow well and bring practical value is important. In the context of climate change, planting and caring for trees regularly and continuously will ensure sustainable development and protect people's lives.

To effectively implement the tree planting movement, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang requested agencies and units to widely disseminate to the masses about the purpose and meaning of the Tree Planting Festival, the role, great effects, comprehensive and long-term benefits, and humanistic values ​​of tree planting and afforestation. At the same time, launch the Tree Planting Festival in accordance with local conditions, agencies and units, ensuring practical efficiency, savings, and avoiding ostentation. Carry out well the work of planting, caring for, and protecting forests, gradually increasing the forest coverage of the province. Increase the planting of scattered trees in urban areas, concentrated residential areas, industrial parks, relic sites, and traffic corridors; plant bamboo to protect dikes and prevent natural disasters. Do a good job of caring for and protecting trees after planting, ensuring that the trees are healthy and grow well. In addition, it is necessary to review and arrange areas and locations to continue planting trees, afforestation and increase production on existing fruit tree areas, contributing to the implementation of the Project to plant 1 billion trees in the period of 2021-2025 according to the Prime Minister's decision. Comrades, party members, heads of agencies should take the lead in mobilizing people of all walks of life to be determined and strive to complete the tree planting target plan for 2024 assigned by the Provincial People's Committee. In 2024, Hai Duong strives to plant 800,000 scattered trees including dracontomelon, acacia, magnolia, lat hoa, sao, bang lang, xoan, phoenix... Immediately after the launching ceremony, provincial leaders, heads of agencies, sectors and people participated in planting trees on the main road of An Son commune.
