On the days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2025, many kindergartens in Ninh Giang are decorated with striking, impressive red colors typical of Tet.
This year, Ninh Thanh Kindergarten, Tan Huong Commune organized 8 colorful design booths right at the entrance. The school campus became the most colorful spring place in the commune.
Teacher Pham Thi Phuong, Principal of Ninh Thanh Kindergarten, said: "In the innocent minds of children, Tet is a long holiday, where they can freely play and receive lucky money... Therefore, it is necessary to teach children to understand and directly experience the traditional beauty of Tet."
Participating in the experience with her child, Ms. Dao Thi Thu Thuy, a parent of a student at the school, shared: "It took more than a week for teachers, parents and children to prepare the booths to create a lively Tet market picture. Participating in a big program of the school like this, not only the children were excited but also our parents. Many parents even took the initiative to take time off work to accompany their children."
Children enjoy
Right on the familiar school yard, 467 children of Nghia An Kindergarten experienced the "Children happily welcome Tet" festival. From the school gate are the old Tet market stalls with all the essential goods.
The teacher assigned the 4-5 year old children to take turns playing the role of sellers and buyers so that they could gain more experience. At each booth, the homeroom teacher introduced the meaning of each type of cake, root vegetable, and fruit during Tet to the children.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Hai, Principal of Nghia An Kindergarten emphasized: "We hope that through the experience, the children will initially develop life skills such as practicing making cakes, decorating peach trees, making New Year greeting cards, writing calligraphy, selling goods...
Children are encouraged to express their aesthetic perspective and have a team-working mindset. In particular, it creates for children unforgettable memories of traditional Tet that will last a lifetime."
In addition to the "Healthy and Clever Children" competition, Hong Duc Kindergarten, Duc Phuc Commune (Ninh Giang) organized many folk games such as blindfolded duck catching, sack jumping, tug of war, and bamboo jumping, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere.
Teacher Pham Thi Du, Principal of Hong Duc Kindergarten, said that the program "Healthy and Smart Children" is a meaningful gift that the school and parents give to students on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, so that children can experience the Tet atmosphere at their second home.
"The teachers introduced the children to many useful things about the meaning of Tet. The program is an opportunity for parents to directly participate in school educational activities, creating a connection between family and school in caring for, nurturing and educating children," Ms. Du shared.
Nguyen Xuan Bao Son, 5-year-old class A, Hong Duc Kindergarten happily said: "My favorite game is blindfolded duck catching. I just won a prize of a teddy bear and candy. I will bring the candy home for the whole family to eat."
