The new program will be piloted for three consecutive school years at 120 preschools representing regions before being widely deployed.

According to the planned roadmap, the Ministry of Education and Training will pilot the new Preschool Education Program for three consecutive school years 2025-2026, 2026-2027, 2027-2028 at 120 preschool education institutions in 20 provinces and cities representing regions across the country.

After the pilot period, the ministry will organize experience review, continue to perfect the content of the new Preschool Education Program and plan to widely deploy it in preschools nationwide in the 2029-2030 school year.

This is the information given by Mr. Nguyen Ba Minh, Director of the Department of Preschool Education (Ministry of Education and Training) at the workshop on preparation for the piloting of the new Preschool Education Program; consultation on the piloting process; forms for reporting the results of the piloting of the Preschool Education Program organized by the Ministry of Education and Training today, December 19.

Mr. Minh said that the current preschool education program, issued and implemented for 15 years (from 2009 to present), has many advantages such as: a framework program, open in nature; meeting the diversity of regions and children; ensuring close connection between nursery and kindergarten ages; demonstrating a comprehensive, integrated, child-centered educational perspective with the educational motto "playing while learning, learning through playing."

However, in the face of rapid changes in domestic, regional and international practices, the current Preschool Education Program has revealed shortcomings, failing to keep up with the requirements for developing learners' qualities and capacities in the context of innovation; children's living conditions at school put pressure on teachers; teachers have not been able to promote flexibility and creativity in the process of nurturing and educating children... Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Training has developed a new Preschool Education Program.

The pilot organization is a prudent move by the Ministry of Education and Training towards the promulgation of the new Preschool Education Program. From the shortcomings arising during the pilot process, there will be solutions to supplement resources such as the capacity of the teaching staff, material facilities... so that when mass implementation is carried out, managers and teachers will not be confused.
