Vietnam Futsal team gathers to prepare for World Cup ticket

The Vietnamese futsal team with 19 players will gather in Ho Chi Minh City on March 11 to prepare for the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship. The tournament will take place from April 17 to 28 in Thailand.

In addition to the participation of the trio of "Golden Ball Futsal 2023" Pham Duc Hoa, Chau Doan Phat, Ho Van Y, this futsal team also has the participation of players who are playing well in the 2024 National Futsal Championship such as Nguyen Hoang Anh Vu, Tran Nhat Trung, Nguyen Anh Duy...

The Vietnam futsal team is in Group A with Thailand, China and Myanmar at the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship. The goal of the Vietnam futsal team is to compete for one of the top two spots in Group A to enter the quarterfinals. Then aim for the top 4 strongest teams and win a ticket to the 2024 Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan.

In order to realize the goal of winning a ticket to the Futsal World Cup for the third consecutive time, the Vietnamese futsal team has carefully planned for the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will organize the 2024 International Futsal Tournament, with the participation of three high-quality guest teams: Iran, Morocco and New Zealand.

Iran is currently ranked 7th in the world futsal rankings. Morocco is ranked 8th, while New Zealand (ranked 49th in the world) has just dethroned the Solomon Islands to qualify for the 2024 Futsal World Cup.

After the end of the 2024 International Futsal Tournament, the Vietnamese futsal team will have two more friendly matches against the Malaysian futsal team on April 6 and 8.

These are two internal matches, serving the professional work of the two teams, so they will be held on empty fields and will not be broadcast live.

On April 12, Coach Giustozzi Diego will finalize the official list of 14 players of the Vietnam futsal team to go to Thailand to participate in the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship.
