Vietnam Futsal Team Begins Journey to Find World Cup Tickets in Mongolia

On the afternoon of June 22, AFC conducted the draw for the 2024 AFC Futsal Championship qualifying round. This is also the first qualifying round of the Asian region towards the 2024 Futsal World Cup.

According to the draw results, the Vietnam Futsal Team is in Group D with the teams of Korea, Nepal and host Mongolia. This group is considered not too difficult for the Vietnam Futsal Team as the opponents are all below their level.

In addition, the Organizing Committee has selected 8 best teams and 7 best second-place teams in each group to win tickets to the final round, so the opportunity for the Vietnam Futsal Team is very high. The matches will take place from October 7 to 11. In the first match, the Vietnam Futsal Team will meet the host Mongolia on October 7.

In other groups, Thailand promises to have interesting matches with China, Hong Kong (China) and Turkmenistan. Indonesia is in the same group as Saudi Arabia, Macau (China) and Afghanistan. The most unpredictable group is Group G with the appearance of Malaysia, Uzbekistan and Iraq.

The 2024 AFC Futsal Championship Finals will take place in 2024 with the participation of the host team and 15 qualifying teams. The top 5 teams of this tournament will qualify for the 2024 Futsal World Cup.

In the past, the Vietnam Futsal Team won the right to participate in the Futsal World Cup twice in 2016 and 2021.
