On August 22, the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Con Son Cup International Table Tennis Tournament in 2024 met to discuss the organization of the tournament.
The Organizing Committee commented that this tournament has a larger number of delegations and athletes than the table tennis tournament at the 31st SEA Games held in Hai Duong. Therefore, the organization must be carried out in a methodical, scientific, thoughtful and safe manner.
To promote the nature and scale of the tournament, propaganda work on many media and in many forms must be one step ahead. Relevant departments must immediately contact delegations, especially international delegations, to finalize the composition and number of participants in the tournament, and make it public so that fans can easily follow and cheer for the tournament.

By August 22, most of the delegations had confirmed their participation in the tournament, with 5 international delegations (instead of 7 delegations as previously planned), including: Guangdong, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Singapore and Suwon (Korea). 8 domestic teams include: host Hai Duong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Army, People's Public Security T&T, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa and Dong Nai.
The total number of athletes, sports officials, referees, and guests at the tournament is about 200 people; athletes alone are about 120 people, 50 more than the number of athletes participating in table tennis at the 31st SEA Games in Hai Duong.
