Authorities are searching for five missing students suspected of drowning in Hien Quan commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province.
On the evening of November 18, Mr. Le Trung Huyen, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hien Quan commune, said the incident happened at around 4:30 p.m. the same day.
According to Mr. Huyen, at that time, 6 students went swimming in the river area of zone 1, Hien Quan commune and were swept away by the water. One student was lucky to escape but 5 are still missing.
"Currently, the search and rescue forces of the provincial police and local forces are focusing on the search," said Mr. Huyen.
