10th grade male student in Duc Chinh commune (Cam Giang) died from bathing in the river

On the morning of May 5, the leader of the People's Committee of Duc Chinh commune, Cam Giang district (Hai Duong) informed that on the evening of May 4, a 10th grade male student in the area drowned while swimming in the Thai Binh river.

At about 6:00 p.m. on May 4, at Tien Kieu ferry terminal on the Thai Binh River in Duc Chinh commune, 5 teenagers finished bathing in the river and sat down to rest. At this time, N.D.P. (16 years old, from Xuan Kieu village, Duc Chinh commune) came to bathe. P. was bathing about 30 meters away from the group of 5 teenagers. When P. was swimming about 10 meters from the shore, the group of teenagers saw P. waving. Knowing that something unfortunate had happened, all 5 teenagers swam out to look for him but could not find P.

Then, one person went to get a boat, one person went to get a life jacket and continued swimming out to look but still could not find P.

At around 8:30 p.m. the same day, the family coordinated with the authorities to find and recover the body of P.

Immediately after the incident, local authorities visited and encouraged P's family.

Local authorities have continuously warned people, especially teenagers, not to bathe in the area. However, some teenagers still risk their lives to bathe there.
