Phong and Binh knew each other and often went out together. While drunk, Phong stabbed his friend to death because of a conflict.

On June 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Tra Vinh Province Police announced that they were temporarily detaining Thach Truong Huy Phong (34 years old, residing in Cho Hamlet, Tap Son Commune, Tra Cu District, Tra Vinh) to investigate and clarify the act of murder.
Initial investigation results show that Phong and Le Cong Binh (39 years old, residing in Dong Son hamlet, Tap Son commune, Tra Cu district, Tra Vinh) knew each other and often went out together.
On the afternoon of June 9, after getting drunk, Phong and Binh had a conflict, argued, and challenged each other to a fight in Cho hamlet, Tap Son commune.
After that, Phong brought a knife to the meeting place, stabbed Binh repeatedly, injuring him, then continued to Tra Vinh city to play with friends.
Binh was taken to the emergency room but died.
Upon hearing the news of Binh's death, persuaded by his family, Phong went to the police station to surrender and confess his crime.
The case is being further investigated and handled by the Investigation Police Agency of Tra Vinh Provincial Police.
