On the afternoon of July 1, the Provincial People's Committee worked with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to listen to a report on the implementation of cultural, sports and tourism tasks in the first 6 months of 2024; directions and key tasks until 2025.

At the meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed a number of issues related to the organization and fields of the industry. These include issues related to the construction of the Sports Training, Coaching and Competition Center in the Provincial Sports and Cultural Complex; the repair, investment, upgrading and renovation of a number of relics and the Provincial Museum, the Provincial Library, the Eastern Cultural Center; the investment in infrastructure construction at tourist areas and spots...

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in recent times, the province has always paid attention to investing and developing the fields of culture, sports and tourism. However, the development of the province's culture, sports and tourism sector has not been commensurate with its potential. The province's viewpoint is to be ready to invest in the fields of culture, sports and tourism because this is an investment for the happiness of the people, the important issue is that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism must advise correctly and accurately.

Concluding the working session, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the proposals and recommendations of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and noted a number of issues.

Regarding grassroots cultural institutions, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to immediately survey the current situation of village and residential area cultural houses, then advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate resources for investment with the goal that all village and residential area cultural houses must be invested. He also emphasized that one of the immediate issues is that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism must coordinate with related departments to include them in the planning at the commune and subdivision levels so that basically all villages and residential areas have land to build cultural houses and sports fields, meeting the needs of people's daily life, entertainment and exercise.

Regarding the restoration and embellishment of ranked works and relics, the provincial People's Committee leader requested that, immediately after this meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism prepare a report, clearly stating the relics that need investment in restoration at this stage, clarifying the items that need investment.

Construction of cultural, sports and tourism projects must be carried out according to the principle of selecting good contractors and good consultants, without affecting the quality of the project for any reason.

In the coming time, the culture, sports and tourism sector needs to pay attention to developing human resources for tourism to meet development requirements. He assigned districts, towns and cities to research and build tourism infrastructure development models: accommodation, cuisine, shopping... associated with the development of local specialty products.

Regarding the development of high-performance sports, the provincial People's Committee leaders requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advise the province on implementing policies to promote the resources of high-performance athletes. At the same time, the department also coordinated with relevant sectors and localities to study the model of building swimming pools, investment resources, management mechanisms and methods of management to ensure safety in order to effectively popularize swimming for children and all classes of people.

According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hai Duong still lacks cultural, sports and tourism facilities. In particular, the provincial level still lacks cinemas, exhibition centers, theaters, stadiums, etc. At the grassroots level, there are 27 villages and residential areas without cultural houses, 36 communes without stadiums and 202 villages and residential areas without sports grounds. In industrial zones and clusters, there has been no investment in building cultural and sports facilities to serve workers and laborers. Hai Duong has 3,199 relics, of which 417 have been ranked, but many relics are in disrepair and need to be restored and embellished. Many works and items at the Provincial Museum have been degraded, affecting the work of preserving, researching and displaying artifacts. Some items at the works of the Sports Training, Coaching and Competition Center; Provincial Library; The Eastern Cultural Center has degraded and needs to be renovated and repaired to ensure the operating conditions of the units. Tourism infrastructure in tourist areas and spots is still limited and not yet synchronized, affecting the ability to promote tourism resources and build unique tourism products of the province. Technical tourism infrastructure at some destinations and accommodation facilities have not been upgraded and invested in; there are no entertainment services, high-class tourist accommodation facilities...
