Hanoi Medical University plans to enroll students in Medical Imaging Technology and Social Work from 2025.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tung, Vice Rector of Hanoi Medical University, announced the above information at the 2025 admissions and career counseling program in Thanh Hoa on January 12.
Mr. Tung said that the school previously focused on training doctors and postgraduates. Currently, the demand for high-quality medical personnel is very high, including personnel in charge of medical imaging techniques, so the school decided to provide additional training in this field.
With the Social Work major, the school opened because it recognized the need for social work activities in hospitals, medical examination and treatment facilities and the increasingly attractive income of employees doing this job.
According to Mr. Tung, the two newly opened majors are both suitable for the school's infrastructure and training capacity.
Last year, Hanoi Medical University also opened three majors: Psychology, Midwifery and Dental Prosthetics. It was also the first time the school used the combination of block C00 (Literature, History, Geography) and D01 (Math, Literature, English) to select some majors, in addition to the traditional combination of B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology). The admission score for the same major varies according to different subject combinations.
Regarding the admission combinations in 2025, Mr. Tung said that schools will likely have to make adjustments if the current draft admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training are approved. Because the Ministry expects schools to convert to a common score scale between combinations and admission methods.
"It is impossible to compare the C00 and B00 combination scores because these two combinations do not have any subjects in common," said Mr. Tung.
Regarding admission methods, the school plans to maintain the same as last year, including: direct admission, based on high school graduation exam scores, admission combined with graduation exam scores and international language certificates, based on Hanoi National University's (HSA) competency assessment test scores.
The benchmark score for Hanoi Medical University in 2024 is based on the graduation exam score from 19 to 28.83. The highest is Psychology in block C00. If only counting the traditional combination B00, Medicine leads with 28.27 points. The lowest score - 19 points applies to the majors of Medical Laboratory Technology and Rehabilitation Technology at Thanh Hoa branch.
