Authorities have found the bodies of the remaining three students in the case of five eighth-grade students who drowned and went missing in Hien Quan commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho.
On the morning of November 20, functional forces and local authorities of Phu Tho province found the bodies of the remaining 3 children in the case of 5 8th grade students drowning and missing in Hien Quan commune, Tam Nong district.
Thus, after 3 days of the incident, this morning, the authorities found all 5 bodies of the students who drowned and went missing while playing on the Red River bank on the afternoon of November 18.
Currently, local authorities are coordinating with the victims' families to bury the children according to local customs.
Previously, at around 4:00 p.m. on November 18, in the Red River alluvial area, section 1, Hien Quan commune, 5 students went missing.
Through initial verification, 10 students invited each other to play in the above area. After that, 6 students drowned, including 3 boys and 3 girls, 1 student was lucky to swim to shore, the remaining 5 victims are missing including: Tran MD, Ha TTL, Bui KLA, Ha TD and Le AD. All are 8th grade students of Hien Quan Secondary School, Tam Nong District.
At around 7pm on November 18, authorities found the body of one victim on the riverbank in Hien Quan commune. At 1:30pm on November 19, authorities found the second victim, a female student, about 2km downstream of Phong Chau pontoon bridge on the Red River, in zone 7, Huong Non commune, Tam Nong district.
