House fire, 4 family members in Hanoi died

At about 4:48 a.m. on January 15, a fire broke out at a fresh flower and silk flower shop at 4 Hang Luoc, Hanoi.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Team of Ba Dinh District Police sent forces to support Hoan Kiem District Police to coordinate in fighting the fire.

According to Hanoi City Police, the house on fire is a tube-shaped house, about 20 square meters in area.²/floor, 1st floor for fresh flower business, 2nd floor and above for living.

During the fire fighting and rescue process, 4 people, including 2 adults and 2 children, were found dead from severe smoke inhalation.

At the time of the fire, one person in the house escaped through the 4th floor balcony to the balcony of the house next door and was brought down safely by the police.

The identities of the four victims include Mr. N.D.H. (born in 1954, head of household), Mrs. D.TH (born in 1961), NB (born in 2014), and NBHP (born in 2017).

According to the police, when approaching Ms. NMH, the injured person after escaping, she said she guided her family from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor and from the 4th floor to the balcony to escape to the house next door.

She herself escaped through the second fire exit to the balcony of the house next door.

Ms. H. said: "I don't understand why the grandparents led the two children back down the stairs, leading to the heartbreaking incident above."
