Hai Duong Newspaper won the national press award for "three agriculture"

On the evening of December 10, the 2023 National Press Awards Ceremony on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam took place in Hanoi.

Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission; Party Central Committee members: Luong Quoc Doan, President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; Ha Thi Nga, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor... attended.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Comrade Luong Quoc Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, said that in recent times, the Vietnam Farmers' Union has coordinated with relevant departments and branches to actively propagate, disseminate, and mobilize members and farmers to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, focusing on policies and laws on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas; constantly innovate the content and methods of operation, focus on the grassroots, accompany farmers, organize, and guide the implementation of practical and effective movements and activities, meeting the requirements of gathering, mobilizing, and supporting farmers in the new situation, contributing to building a strong association.

The 2023 National Press Award for Writing about Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas in Vietnam is one of the practical and effective information and propaganda activities, creating a strong spread in the communication work on agriculture, farmers and rural areas. Organizing the award has a particularly important meaning, not only creating an environment for professional and non-professional writers who are journalists and readers nationwide, but also making an important contribution to propagating and disseminating the Party and State's policies and guidelines on agriculture, farmers and rural areas; promptly reflecting and replicating typical and outstanding models and examples in farmers, agricultural development and new rural construction; remaining problems and difficulties in the field of agriculture, farmers and rural areas, helping competent authorities have more information to advise and propose to competent authorities to issue increasingly more complete mechanisms, policies and solutions.

Comrade Luong Quoc Doan emphasized that through the articles, works, and series of topics, they have contributed to changing the thinking of farmers in the new period, shifting from agricultural production thinking to agricultural economic thinking, integrating multi-values. Each article, each work that won the award this time seems to paint a colorful, vibrant picture of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas in Vietnam.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 10 consolation prizes and 10 thematic prizes to 26 excellent works.

The series of articles "Glitches" in digital transformation of agriculture by Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper/Dan Viet electronic won first prize.

E-magazine work"Wizard" invents agricultural machines and fire-rescue devicesby reporters Tien Manh and Tuan Anh (Hai Duong Newspaper) won the special topic award. This is a modern journalistic work, integrating many vivid and attractive images and video clips, highlighting the portrait of Mr. Pham Van Hat (from Ngoc Ky commune, Tu Ky) - a farmer who has just finished 7th grade but is very good at inventing agricultural machines, has made many positive contributions to the country's agriculture, was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President with "special privilege", was awarded the title "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer", and received the honorary plaque "Talent of Vietnam". He was honored to be included in textbooks, becoming an inspiration and motivation for the younger generation. Recently, Mr. Hat has successfully manufactured a device to save people from fires after many years of hard research. He is one of the typical examples, portraits of outstanding Vietnamese farmers, full of determination to rise up in the new era.

The 2023 National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas in Vietnam is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, directed by the Central Propaganda Department, and assigned to Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper in coordination with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank).

From the launch date of April 26, 2023 to November 15, 2023, the Organizing Committee received 2,769 works from authors and journalists from more than 100 central and local press agencies. There were 55 excellent works that made it to the final round, of which 26 works with the highest scores were selected for awards.

The National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas is a key activity to celebrate the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union for the 2023-2028 term. This is also a specific activity to effectively implement Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas. Thereby, creating a spread and consensus to the whole society on the policies and guidelines of the Party and State.
