Currently, Hai Duong City police force has prepared plans to ensure absolute safety for the holiday and activities on the walking street and night market.

At 8:00 p.m. on April 27, security and order working groups of Hai Duong City Police were present at Thong Nhat Square - the main stage where the opening ceremony of the walking street and night market took place on the evening of April 28. Although the event had not yet taken place, there were quite a lot of vehicles moving through this area. During the 5-day holiday, from April 29 to May 3, Hai Duong City Police will maintain 70% of its staff on duty. Hai Duong City Police has proactively developed plans and solutions to ensure general security and order in the area, including walking streets and night markets. In particular, ensuring security and order during the holiday is associated with implementing a peak period to prevent, suppress, and handle the situation of young people gathering, causing insecurity and disorder, and to fight, suppress, and handle all kinds of "street crimes" (Working Group 151) in Hai Duong City.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tuan, Head of the General Team, Hai Duong City Police said: “Since the peak, Hai Duong City Police have increased patrols and night control on main streets, key areas, and gateways to the city. This activity will continue to be strengthened during the holidays, organizing walking streets and night markets to combat, suppress, and arrest groups of young people who gather, use motorbikes to weave, carry dangerous weapons, and disturb public order; all kinds of crimes of robbery, snatching, trafficking in prohibited goods, drugs, and theft of property…”.

For the walking street and night market, Hai Duong City Police mobilized officers and soldiers to ensure security, order and safety for leaders, art troupes, international guests and people attending; assigned forces at 19 key locations such as Thong Nhat Square, the intersection of Bui Thi Xuan Street and Da Tuong Street, etc.

Task Force 151 is assigned forces to organize patrols and controls both secretly and publicly, promptly preventing "street crimes" and strictly handling hooligans and thugs. Police in wards and communes in the area conduct screening and make lists of suspects, those who show signs of using motorbikes without license plates or covering license plates, weaving and swerving on traffic routes...

Strengthen fire prevention

To ensure safety in fire prevention and fighting, Hai Duong City Police have coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Hai Duong Provincial Police) to develop plans and scenarios for handling and responding to fire, explosion, incidents and accidents on the walking street and night market. At the same time, 2 fire trucks and on-duty forces are arranged to be ready to handle any situations or incidents that arise on Ton Duc Thang Street and Thong Nhat Square.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team (Hai Duong City Police) in coordination with Tran Phu and Le Thanh Nghi Ward Police organized propaganda and reminders to households in the area where the walking street and night market are located, thereby promptly correcting the limitations to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety.

Through the propaganda and reminders of the police force, residents and businesses on the walking street and night market have raised awareness of fire prevention. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, owner of Tuan Ruoi restaurant, a business on the street, said: "The restaurant has equipped fire extinguishers and instructed employees on how to use them to put out fires initially. This is a necessary step to ensure the safety of employees and customers when they come to enjoy food at the restaurant."
