Based on the results of the national excellent student selection exam for the 2024-2025 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training continues to select and train candidates to participate in international and regional Olympic teams in 2025 in the subjects of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics.
Hai Duong has 4 students, all 12th graders of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted (Hai Duong City), who have just won first and second prizes in the national competition for excellent students, including: Nguyen Hai An, specialized in IT; Tran Minh Chi, specialized in Chemistry; Truong Ngoc Hieu and Vu Viet Ha, both specialized in Math.
The selection exam for the 2025 international and regional Olympic teams is expected to be held in March 2025.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Hai Duong has 3 students from Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted entering the second round to select the national team to participate in regional and international Olympic competitions.
Since the 2021-2022 school year, after Hai Duong had 2 students from Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted win the gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad and the bronze medal at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, for 3 years, Hai Duong has not had any students enter the international and regional competition teams.
At the national high school student selection exam for the 2024-2025 school year, Hai Duong's national student selection team continued to maintain its achievements in the top of the country with a total of 97 awards, an increase of 8 awards compared to the previous school year.
In terms of the rate of students winning prizes, Hai Duong ranks 3rd in the country after Bac Ninh and Vinh Phuc.
In terms of the number of awards, Hai Duong ranked 5th nationwide, the same as the previous school year. This result was only behind Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong City and Bac Giang province, but ranked higher than neighboring provinces such as Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh.
