The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is built with the hope of breaking the record for the fastest electric car at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack.

On July 19, Xiaomi Auto suddenly launched an electric supercar made entirely from carbon fiber called Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.

The car's name sounds more like a smartphone product than an electric car, especially since the brand that created it is also famous in the technology industry and has just entered the automotive industry.

Sharing with the media, Mr. Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, said that the SU7 Ultra is the first car model equipped with the new HyperEngine V8 system researched by Xiaomi itself.

From the outside, the SU7 Ultra stands out with its aggressive, sporty design. The front of the car is cut boldly to create air vents to increase aerodynamics. The rear of the car is equipped with a giant spoiler made from carbon fiber to reduce the weight of the car.

Although the entire exterior is reduced in weight with carbon fiber, the total weight of the SU7 Ultra is still up to 1,900 kg due to the large battery, with a capacity of about 1,330 kW.

According to the manufacturer, the 2 HyperEngine V8 electric motors produce up to 1,548 horsepower, turning the SU7 Ultra into an "electric rocket" on the track. The car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds.

The maximum speed when received is 300 km/h. However, according to some test reports, this "electric rocket" can reach a maximum speed of up to 350 km/h.

The car is launched in 3 commercial versions, different in engine including standard, Pro and Max. The lowest version is equipped with a 73.6 kWh BYD Blade battery, producing 299 horsepower. The Pro version uses a 94.3 kWh CATL Shenxing battery and the Max version uses a 101 kWh CATL Qilin battery, providing 673 horsepower.

According to the manufacturer, the SU7 Ultra was launched with the aim of breaking the electric car record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife race track in October. Currently, this record belongs to the Volkswagen ID.R with a lap time of 6:05.336 minutes. Followed by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with a time of 7:07.55 minutes.

There is currently no further information about the launch time or the listed price of the commercial SU7 Ultra. The images published by Xiaomi Auto are also just a test version, so it is uncertain whether the above-mentioned rugged exterior equipment will appear when it goes on sale or will only apply to the SU7 Ultra cars brought to the racing tournament.
