The Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) said it will announce a 5G chip and an artificial intelligence (AI) virtual assistant at the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 (VIIE 2023) taking place from October 28.

Vietnam's first 5G DFE chip line belongs to the 5G product ecosystem, designed entirely by Viettel engineers. As the most complex component of the 5G ecosystem, this chip line plays the role of processing 5G DFE algorithms, controlling all operations of the 5G RRU (Receive/Relay Unit) and communicating at high speed with other 5G processing blocks.

The 5G DFE chip has the same level of complexity as the Apple A7 chip, has a computing capacity of 1,000 billion calculations/second and is highly appreciated by prestigious partners such as Synopsys.

Mastering the chip design process is an important step for Vietnam to participate more deeply in the global semiconductor industry, in the context that the world market has not yet provided a commercial 5G chip product line. This is a premise for Viettel to be able to produce chips serving many fields such as AI, 6G, IoT... in the future.

At the booth, visitors can experience and learn about the 5G network system built by Viettel in a synchronous manner, with complete technological autonomy, ensuring information security for Vietnam.

5G devices manufactured by Viettel apply the latest technologies, meeting world standards. These devices are used in 11 markets invested by Viettel with nearly 200 million subscribers, ready to commercialize 5G in Vietnam.

At the exhibition, Viettel will demonstrate two typical products in Viettel's AI ecosystem, including a legal virtual assistant that is being used effectively in the court industry and an automated customer care support solution - Viettel AI Video KYC.

This year's VIIE 2023 revolves around 8 key areas: Smart factory, smart city, hydrogen technology, digital media, semiconductor technology, medical technology, environmental technology and cybersecurity. Viettel is currently participating in all 8 of these areas and is a pioneer in the fields of smart city, semiconductor technology and cybersecurity.

Located in the Demonstration Area of the National Innovation Center (Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park), Viettel's booth is designed according to a multi-dimensional Digital exhibition model, combining technology solution demonstrations and inspirational artistic images, expressing the spirit of "As technology moves forward, no one is left behind."

With 5G, Viettel brought to the exhibition 5G chips, 5G gNodeB transceivers (8T8R, 32T32R), 5G gNodeB transceivers, 100G Site Router transmission equipment, 5G high-frequency signal processing transceivers. Being the representative to make Vietnam the 6th country in the world with the capacity to produce 5G network equipment in 2019, Viettel is currently the only enterprise in the world that is both a telecommunications network operator and a research and production equipment manufacturer.

With the AI ecosystem, the legal virtual assistant is the only virtual assistant in Vietnam today that owns a large and reliable legal knowledge system, designed specifically for Vietnamese people. With the ability to process up to 2,000 requests at the same time, Viettel virtual assistant can increase productivity up to 10,000 times, helping to minimize personnel and deployment time, and respond immediately 24/7 to people and customers.

Viettel AI Video KYC, part of the AI Human project, helps verify customers, communicate by voice and process images automatically. The solution helps businesses save nearly 60 billion VND/year. The order approval rate on the bot is ~90%, the system processes hundreds of thousands of video calls per month, operating 24/7.

As a pioneer enterprise leading innovation activities in Vietnam, Viettel currently owns 116 patents in Vietnam, 29 patents in the US, and is the number 1 Vietnamese legal entity registering and being granted industrial property rights.
