Starting May 4, Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company will begin recalling 191 Raize vehicles to repair the front shock absorber mounting weld.
The Vietnam Register said that these are vehicles manufactured from March 29, 2021 to October 8, 2021 in Indonesia and imported by Toyota Vietnam for distribution.
The recall program will start from May 4, 2022 to May 4, 2025; the inspection and repair time is expected to be from 7.6 hours to 24.1 hours/vehicle and is completely free of charge.
According to the Vietnam Register, the shock absorber is a part located in the engine compartment, with the function of mounting and holding the upper end of the front shock absorber assembly to increase the vehicle load on the front wheels as well as contribute to the steering system.
On vehicles within the affected range, when the wheels are subjected to strong impacts such as when the vehicle passes over speed bumps, the welds of these two mounts may come loose. If this occurs, customers may hear unusual noises in the front shock absorber mount area during vehicle use.
In the worst case, the vehicle's chassis may collapse, causing loss of control and affecting the safety of the driver and passengers.
Therefore, for the benefit and safety of themselves and their passengers, customers should quickly bring their vehicles to Toyota dealers nationwide to have the front bumper welds repaired and replaced completely free of charge.
For non-genuine imported Toyota Raize vehicles subject to recall as announced by Toyota Corporation Japan (TMC), upon request from the vehicle owner, Toyota Vietnam will assist in contacting TMC to obtain information.
After receiving confirmation and approval from TMC, Toyota Vietnam Dealer will proceed to repair and replace free of charge for customers.
In case customers want to check whether their vehicle is included in the list affected by this program, customers can contact Toyota Vietnam and Toyota Dealers nationwide for support.
For more information or advice, customers can contact the nearest Toyota Dealer directly or Toyota Vietnam hotline number 18001524 or 0916001524 or on the website: www.toyota.com.vn.
