Technology corporation Microsoft is developing a new feature for the Windows 11 operating system, helping users understand information about the hardware performance of their computers (PCs).
RAM is the temporary memory of the computer that helps store current information so that the central processing unit (CPU) can access and process it. The GPU is a processor that specializes in analyzing blocks of image data. The difference with the CPU is that the GPU is specialized in processing image tasks.
According to information from the latest test builds (Dev Channel) of Windows 11, Microsoft is integrating a new FAQ section into the system settings. The Dev channel is a development build with new features, but may be unstable and risky. Meanwhile, the Beta Channel is a build with new features that is validated by Microsoft, with fewer serious issues and bugs.
The FAQ will automatically analyze the PC's hardware configuration and provide warnings or recommendations related to performance. For example, if the RAM is too low or the GPU only has 4 GB of memory, the user will receive a warning message and an upgrade suggestion.
The feature will help users who are not familiar with their computer’s performance. Instead of using complicated tools, users can easily check and evaluate performance right in Windows settings. This is especially useful for users who do not have much knowledge about hardware.
Previously, Microsoft used the Windows Experience Index tool to evaluate computer performance. But this feature has been removed. Integrating FAQ into system settings can be seen as a replacement for Windows Experience Index, providing a more realistic experience and convenient use.
With the feature appearing in Dev Channel builds, it is in the final testing phase and could be released in the near future. However, Microsoft could also remove the feature if it finds any problems during testing.
