Arsenal won a hard-fought 1-0 away win at Goodison Park against Everton.

Arsenal faced many difficulties when playing away at Everton. The home team showed great determination, hoping to improve their score from the beginning of the season.

Everton actively retreated deep, giving control of the ball to Arsenal. Therefore, the Gunners were stuck in finding a way to Jordan Pickford's goal. The ball mainly rolled in the midfield and on both sides as Everton kept a good distance to cover, limiting the exposed space.

In the 19th minute, Arsenal broke Pickford's net thanks to Martinelli. However, after a VAR check, the goal was disallowed due to Nketiah's previous offside. A few minutes later, the Brazilian player left the field due to injury. Trossard was the one to replace him.

In the remaining minutes of the first half, Arsenal did not create any more chances. On the contrary, the home team showed their advantage in counter-attacks. Raya's goal was put on alert many times. But Everton's strikers were not lucky and advantaged enough to convert into goals.

In the second half, the game did not change much. Despite the stalemate, coach Mikel Arteta still persisted in letting his players play short combinations, especially the pass-and-pass situations in the Everton defense.

After a long wait, Arsenal was rewarded. In the 69th minute, from a corner kick on the right wing, Arsenal players coordinated on the wing. Saka broke free, passed the ball back to Trossard for a delicate finish, opening the score of the match.

Everton tried hard in the remaining time but Arsenal controlled the ball well to keep the result. The away team won 1-0, thereby advancing to the top 4. They have 13 points with the two teams right above them, Tottenham and Liverpool. Arsenal is only 2 points behind the top team, Man City.

Result: Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Goal scorer: Trossard (69')
