Math prodigy enters world's top university at age 15, causing a stir

Jiang Zhicheng is known as the youngest contestant on the Chinese team to win a gold medal at the 64th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The male student surprised many people with his outstanding mathematical talent at the age of 15.

Chi Thanh was born and raised in Guangdong (China), and has been passionate about numbers since childhood. Throughout his school years, this student has always achieved high results in the field of Mathematics.

At the age of 12, Chi Thanh won first prize in the Informatics competition for middle and high school students. A year later, he participated in the National Mathematics Competition for Excellent Students, the National Youth Informatics Olympiad (NOIP 2021) and won the highest prize.

At the age of 13, the male student made many people admire him even more when he won a silver medal at the 37th Chinese Math Olympiad.

Thanks to his excellent performance, Chi Thanh was named in the provincial Math team and was admitted directly to Shenzhen High School (China) 2 years early. During his high school years, the student always maintained his academic performance as the top student in his class.

Chi Thanh has represented the locality many times in the National Mathematical Olympiad and won first prize in 2022. Continuing that success, in 2023, the male student participated in the 38th Chinese Mathematical Olympiad and won a gold medal.

That achievement helped Chi Thanh join the national Math team to participate in international competitions. Although he was the youngest in the team, the male student was never self-conscious or worried. In every competition, Chi Thanh tried his best to develop his talent.

The male student once shared with the media about the learning method that helped him achieve high results. The love and passion for Mathematics is the core that motivates Chi Thanh to study hard, overcome many challenges to conquer the peaks of knowledge.

With his intelligence and diligence, Chi Thanh scored 37/42 points and brought home the gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad for China. At the competition held in Chiba, Japan, Chi Thanh made other competitors wary.

The results of the international competition helped Chi Thanh catch the attention of many prestigious universities and was directly admitted to the young talent training program in Mathematics at Tsinghua University in 2023.

Chi Thanh also became one of the few young people in China to be directly admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. At the age of 15, Chi Thanh became the youngest freshman at the world's top prestigious school.

Besides studying, this prodigy aims for comprehensive development. Chi Thanh realizes that to be successful in life, studying well and winning many awards is not enough, that is only a part. He focuses on physical training, participating in many extracurricular activities to strengthen relationships because he knows that in reality, many geniuses go downhill because they only know how to study and lose connection with the world around them.

Even though he is at the peak, the student from Guangdong always modestly looks at himself, finds his shortcomings to correct and improve every day. Chi Thanh does not rely on his intelligence to be lazy but always seeks out new ways to learn, creating a study plan for each stage to maximize his abilities.
